I have been checking this out with Nokia and have included all their remarks in this message.

I suggested to Nokia support, that as these phones have to have an operating system put on them, and that the USB connection socket must be for that purpose, they replied;

In response to your query, please be advised that USB cable is not supported by 1680 model handset. This is just a basic phone main use is for calling and texting. The images or pictures covered cannot be saved by the SIM card as this is only supports such

as the messages and contacts and does not act as a memory card.

Again I asked about the USB connection on the phone, they replied,

You may transfer the photos that were taken by the phone using MMS. Please be advised that charges may apply if you use the MMS function of your daughter s mobile phone.

A mobile phone seller suggested swapping the SIM card to another phone on the same network, or an unlocked phone, and connecting that to a PC - no luck there,

I asked Nokia about this, and was told that the SIM card is not for memory and that the photo s are stored on the phones memory.

I have seen elsewhere on this site that there is a cable it was called a CA-50, and that with the nokia suite software free download here somewhere, this can be managed, but that Windows had trouble seeing it as a separate drive, I assume that if you

have an Apple PC there s no problem.

By the way the links further up do not seem to connect you to any sort of solution to this problem, in fact nothing to do with Nokia.
