Browning Bar Rifle Serial Numbers

This is not an engineering question, but rather than lie about it and make it into one, I ll just be honest and ask the question: Does anyone who is familiar with Belgium Browning rifles happen to know how or where to find information regarding the date of manufacture which is garnered from the serial numbers on Browning rifles produced in the Belgium. I can only assume that serial numbers contain a date code, because that s the only information that s unique on the barrel of the gun, and all other information is generic, such as made in Belgium, Browning, 30-06, etc. I also hope that the model or version of BAR is buried in the SN also, as it is not stamped separately and explicitly.

I have looked on the Browning websites in the US and Belgium. The USA Browning website tells how to date a rifle manufactured in the USA using the serial number, but as far as I can find, the Belgium website does not. Google, Ask, bing, etc., etc., have yet to produce a website at which I have found the desired information. No forums I have found answer the question either.
